It can be hard to find entertaining and educational drop-in activities for babies, toddlers, and preschoolers. We provide high-quality Sign + Sing Story Times to keep your child engaged, while learning a few signs to grow their vocabulary. Story Time is offered at libraries, child care centers, and outdoors throughout Central Illinois, as well as virtually through our live and on-demand story times! At each thematic story time, families will learn 2-5 signs to take home and practice with their little one. Story Times include stories, movement, rhymes, and bubbles, and are a great opportunity to interact with your child and continue learning outside of classes.
Stroll and Sign is offered weekly throughout the summer (May-August) in Peoria and Normal, IL. Families of all ages are welcome to join us for a short walk and then participate in a short story time with one of our instructors. We are thrilled to partner with local businesses to offer a small snack to little ones joining us each week. Just drop-in and join us in at 9:15 on Tuesdays at Underwood Park in Normal or Thursdays at Liberty Park in Peoria. Cost is $5/family (cash) or $7/family (Venmo @communicationjunction). Looking for a weekend activity? Join us one Saturday a month at 9:00 am at Keller Station in Peoria or at the Bloomington Farmer’s Market (TBD).
For families with busy schedules or those not local to Communication Junction, our virtual Sign + Sing Story Time programming provides families the same learning opportunities as our face-to-face story time programming in the Peoria and Bloomington/Normal areas. Each thematic story time is 30-minutes long and filled with movement, signs, stories, bubbles, and more. Story times are offered live on the first Friday of each month (typically) at 10:00am or available on-demand always. Current story time programming can be viewed and purchased HERE.
Communication Junction is excited to bring back our popular Saturday Story Time series. Story Times will be held on the 1st Saturday of the month in both Peoria and Bloomington, IL through April. Join us for 30-minutes of stories, songs, bubbles, movement and more! Peoria story times will be held in our classroom at 9:00am and Bloomington story times will be hosted at the Yoga Lab at 9:30am.
