What We Do

Communication Junction offers a variety of group Sign and Play classes and Sign and Sing Story Times created to improve communication with children and families. We believe sign language promotes early communication, reduces frustration and tantrums, improves reading skills and may even increase IQ.

Using sign language in your home to communicate is a great way to jump start communication at an early age, bridge the communication gap in a child with a communication disability, or teach your child to enjoy learning and language.

Sign and Play Classes

Classes meet weekly for 6-8 weeks and are designed for children 3-36 months and their caregivers. Sign and Play Classes focus on vocabulary relevant to your child that will help you communicate on a daily basis. Five classes are offered for this age group: What Is Your Baby Thinking (beginning signers), Sign As You Grow (experienced signers), ABC Signs (15months+), Color Signs (15months+), and Summer Sign and Play (to include Nursery Rhymes, Sing-A-Long Songs and Animal Signs – on a rotating basis)

Sign and Sing Story Time

Sign and Sing Story Time is created around a central theme and includes rhymes for repetition, stories, movement and bubbles.   Sign and Sing Story Time is a great compliment to Sign and Play classes and should be used for entertainment or to supplement learning. Classes are located at local libraries and shops throughout the Central, IL area.
